At Dreamland Arts we offer a number of programs appropriate for younger audiences. All programs are scheduled by
special arrangement. Our maximum seating capacity
at Dreamland Arts
is 40 persons. We can perform certain shows for larger groups too --- at your venue!
Fees: For shows at Dreamland, our fees are $5 per person, with a minimum fee of $150, and we can have up to 40 persons in the audience.
For performances at other venues, we can negotiate a fee based on the program requirements, travel, audience size and number of performances.
Some of the programs
currently available
are:
1. An Elephant Up a Tree! Funny voices, sound effects and a hilarious storytelling performance of Dr. Seuss' Horton
Hatches the Egg,
by Leslye Orr. For ages 3+.
2. The Stuffed Animal Show Join Zip the Chipmunk and Gus the Raccoon for an interactive theater adventure. Leslye Orr animates the whole gang with funny voices and creative play. For ages 3+. Limited to 15 children and up to 25 adults.
3. Paper Boats, a multilingual, multicultural feast of stories from around the world, performed by
Paulino Brener. For ages 5+.
4. What I Want to be When I Grow Up Amazing acrobatics and goofy fun with David Harris. 100% safe for audiences of all ages.
5. Children's Stories from India, storytelling by
Zaraawar Mistry
with live music by Greg Herriges. For ages 5+.
6. The People on the Corner, reading from the
children's picture book
with video projections and discussion about persons
with disabilities
with Leslye Orr. For ages 3+.
7. The Adventures of Don Quixote, a delightful bilingual retelling by Paulino Brener of the story of the famous knight from Spanish literature (see photo above). For ages 5+.
8. Nine Jewels: Stories of Akbar and Birbal, storytelling by
Zaraawar Mistry
with live music by Greg Herriges. For ages 5+.
9. Bookcrobatics, a stuntastical reading-fueled extravaganza by David Harris. For all ages.
All our youth programs involve creative and engaging interaction
with the audience
and run about 45 minutes + 15 minutes Q & A (optional).
If you choose to come to Dreamland, there is free parking on the street right in front of the theater.
