Celebrate the possibilities of disabilities! Learn how to include everyone in fun and games! Author and illustrator Leslye Orr, who is legally blind, created this charming book to excite readers about the splendor of our imperfect world. The first edition of The People on the Corner had its premiere reading at the Walker Art Center in April 2003 and was designed by Heewon Lee. The book has an additional art page for teachers to copy and for readers to draw their own idea of an inclusive play date. Now in it’s third printing, Leslye hopes that her book will continue to promote more visibility in picture books for children with disabilities, and to inspire all children to be more inclusive.

The People on the Corner is also available through the websites of Fraser, and at independent bookstores in the Twin Cities such as Common Good Books and The Red Balloon, and at Zandbroz in Sioux Falls.
