Women Who Drink – 30th Anniversary, on Zoom
Written and performed by Leslye Orr

Women Who Drink is a happy hour of intoxicating comedy spiked with razor-sharp wit and sobering observations. Playing sixteen loopy ladies, each named after their drink of choice, outrageous Leslye Orr conjures up a great menu of barflies, each as distinct as their hair-dos and hats!

Featured as the “Best Solo Performance of 2000!” (Lavender magazine), and listed as a Star Tribune “Critic’s Choice” play, this delightful comedy with its uplifting message and memory lane music has been toasted by audiences at theaters in the Midwest for 30 years!

“So funny I darn near laughed out loud.” – Enthusiastic Audience Member.

Women Who Drink premiered at Illusion Theater’s Fresh Ink series in 1990.

In improvisation we aspire to be truthful and to leap joyfully into ambiguity. Who knows what’s going to happen next? When we ground ourselves in the moment and deal with what is actually happening with humor and curiosity we can learn to thrive in the chaos. This 90-minute workshop will use improvisation techniques to help us embrace uncertainty and collaborate with like-minded souls. Please join Jim Robinson and Dreamland Arts for this pay-what-you-wish Zoom event. You can stay home AND join us at Dreamland. Sounds perfect!

Jim Robinson has a dual career in improvisation and psychology. He’s an alumnus of the Brave New Workshop, the Off-Beat Comedy Club onboard the Disney Magic, and is co-founder of Table Salt Productions, a local theater company dedicated to producing original works in the Twin Cities. Jim has also taught psychology at St. Catherine University and at the University of St. Thomas. He hails from Riverside, California.

In improvisation we let go of expectations around creativity and, instead, discover what’s waiting for us in the very moment! When we ground ourselves in the moment and connect with one another we need look no further for inspiration and energy. This hour-long workshop will use improv techniques to help us inhabit the moment and, most importantly, have fun doing so. Please join Jim Robinson and Dreamland Arts for this pay-what-you-wish Zoom event. You can stay home AND join us at Dreamland. Sounds perfect!
