These workshops are a fun and engaging way for people who want to break through the Shakespeare mystique to gain confidence and skills. What is he saying? How does that speech tie together?
Each three hour workshop will have three threads:
- First: Ensemble work, using improvisation and movement to unravel rich and often confusing poetic imagery;
- Second: Take-away lessons and practice in verse structures commonly found in the plays;
- Third: Apply those techniques to monologue and scene work.
WHO: Adult actors and non-actors who are interested in exploring Shakespeares rich imagery and language play are encouraged to jump in with a playful heart! Participants are welcome to bring material for coaching and feedback. Dress for movement.
These three workshops are offered as an open, drop in format. Each evening will build on the night before, but are welcoming if you can only come one evening.
