Massachusetts-based flutist Adrianne Greenbaum and local guitarist/multi-instrumentalist Alex Lubet unite for the first time to perform traditional klezmer as never heard before and probably won’t ever again anywhere else. Two stellar, recognized-in-their-own-fields musicians who will jam it out for their audience – and their own – delight.
Adrianne Greenbaum is the internationally renown pioneer and revivalist of the klezmer flute. Professor of Flute at Mount Holyoke College, touring recitalist and clinician in the US and Europe, Greenbaum specializes in forming rarely known connections to 18th c. music as well as entertaining her audiences with back door stories.
Alex Lubet is a composer and multi-instrumentalist, specializing in acoustic guitar. He also performs on ukulele, mountain dulcimer, dobro, and acoustic and electric bass. His compositions have received hundreds of performances on six continents. His album Spectral Blues received unanimous rave reviews; most notably, critic Ted Gioia named it a “Best Album of 2013.”
